When a child takes up an instrument it is often more enjoyable if you have the opportunity to play with others. I wanted to make the sessions fun with a mixture of musical games, playing by ear and improvising as well as reading and learning new music The age range started off at 7 – 12 but we do have 13 and 14 year olds who so far don’t want to leave! At the moment it is blowing instruments only. I usually write and arrange the music, as I know the children and their capabilities. We usually have a concert at the end of each term plus we have toured the Junior Schools in the area and taken part in the National Festival of Music for Youth. We rehearse every Monday during term time at the Cathedral School from 5.00pm to 6.00pm. Anyone interested should email me.
